More about the workbook:

The purpose of this workbook is to learn to draw 3 dimensional specimens on a 2-dimensional surface and have them look real. Each page takes you through a step-by-step process designed to introduce you to good, simple ways of making your drawings look realistic and accurate, revealing nature’s beauty on paper.

Good drawing starts with good observation. Developing your ability to see details and translating them onto paper takes practice. Mastering basic skills of scientific illustration will help reduce the confusion and mystery in making realistic drawings that appear more 3-dimensional.

In this workbook you will learn toning techniques that use a single light source, simple perspective principles for drawing flowers, and analyzing plant structure. Colored pencil techniques and color theory will be introduced to help you create realistic and natural colors of plants, flowers and fruits.

Colored pencils can be applied to look like drawing or painting. This is an excellent and convenient medium for botanical work, especially in the field.
